How do you score when the ladies' par for a hole is different to the mens?
Do you take the absolute score regardless of the relative par or do you
allow for the difference?

On our course there are 2 holes which are par 5 ladies and par 4 gents, and
1 which is par 4 ladies (v. tough par) and 5 for gents (easy par).

We agreed to take score relative to par in each case though this resulted in
a ladies' 6 (with stroke) beating a gent's 5 in one case and a gent's 5
beating a ladies' 6 (with stroke) in another.

I thought (I'm no expert) that if it's match play then you all played
from the men's card (with the men using the men's tees and the ladies
using the ladies' tees) but gave the ladies an extra hc allowance based
on difference between men's and ladies' SSS.

Ah, http://www.congu.com/faqs/old_site/Mixed%20Golf.pdf

Actually that recommends using the ladies' card.

Thanks Mark,

As I now understand it on our course we would give the ladies 2 extra shots
overall (SSS 72 to our 70) but ignore par when assessing the result on
holes when the par is different.

Seems fair!
