Replacing ball between holes

In a medal round I inadvertently [caused by donning waterproofs] teed of
with a different ball from the one I had holed out at the previous hole.
What is the penalty, if any?

Assuming you're an amateur, there is no penalty for playing another ball
from the next tee, there might be a penalty for not mentioning it though. As
far as I know amateurs are allowed to change balls ( type) in between holes.
